NM-INBRE makes no effort to identify users of
our site. No identifying data is disclosed
to any third party for any purpose and data
that we collect is used exclusively for
generating usage statistics, error tracking,
and server administration.
This statement does not apply to e-mail sent
to NM-INBRE staff or collaborators.
E-mail communications are governed by
Netiquette Guidelines.

We log HTTP requests to our server. This
means that we
know the originating
IP address of a user agent requesting a
URL--unless the request was sent via a web
proxy, in which case, the proxy's IP
address is known.
However, if someone has forged your
address the log file will reflect your
address rather than that of the originating
client.
Our logging is passive; we do not use
technologies such as cookies to maintain
any information about users.
Logging of additional data may be enabled
temporarily for specific purposes (e.g.:
server administration or security).
Logged information may be kept indefinitely
as admistrative and research material; it is
not disclosed outside of NM-INBRE. We
occasionally analyze the log files to
determine which files are most requested
and the user agent which prompted the
request. The aggregate (completely
non-identifying) statistics generated from
these logs may be reported to our
collaborators and/or funding agencies as
part of research results.

of computer misuse involving this site.
