Privacy Policy

 SUMMARY
NM-INBRE makes no effort to identify users of our site. No identifying data is disclosed to any third party for any purpose and data that we collect is used exclusively for generating usage statistics, error tracking, and server administration.

This statement does not apply to e-mail sent to NM-INBRE staff or collaborators. E-mail communications are governed by Netiquette Guidelines.

Any questions regarding the Web site and Site Privacy Policy should be directed to privacy@nmimbre.org .

 INFORMATION WE COLLECT
We log HTTP requests to our server. This means that we know the originating IP address of a user agent requesting a URL--unless the request was sent via a web proxy, in which case, the proxy's IP address is known. However, if someone has forged your address the log file will reflect your address rather than that of the originating client. Our logging is passive; we do not use technologies such as cookies to maintain any information about users.

Logging of additional data may be enabled temporarily for specific purposes (e.g.: server administration or security).

Logged information may be kept indefinitely as admistrative and research material; it is not disclosed outside of NM-INBRE. We occasionally analyze the log files to determine which files are most requested and the user agent which prompted the request. The aggregate (completely non-identifying) statistics generated from these logs may be reported to our collaborators and/or funding agencies as part of research results.

WITH WHOM DOES NM-INBRE SHARE INFORMATION?
NM-INBRE may share information about you with research partners and sponsors. However, we only divulge aggregate information about our users and will not share personally identifiable information with any third party without your express consent. Please be aware, however, that we may release specific personal information about you if required to do so in order to comply with any valid legal process such as a search warrant, subpoena, statute, or court order, or as part of investigations of computer misuse involving this site.
