Dear Colleague,

You are invited to attend the second annual New Mexico Bioinformatics Symposium (NMBIS), March 23- 24, 2006, in Santa Fe, New Mexico.

Highlighting bioinformatics topics useful to today's biologists, this year's symposium will focus on Microarray Technologies, Applications and Methods.

The two-day program begins Thursday afternoon (March 23) with hands-on workshops and a poster session at the National Center for Genome Resources (NCGR) in Santa Fe. Friday's session will continue at Museum Hill in Santa Fe - featuring a keynote address from Atul Butte (Stanford University), several speakers at-large from New Mexico's universities and national laboratories, and (new this year!) student speakers.

Call for Poster Abstracts - Closing date extended to March 20, 2006

The NMBIS Organizing Committee invites you to submit a poster abstract of your scientific research for presentation during the symposium poster session at NCGR from 5:30pm to 7:30pm on Thursday, March 23, 2006.

Student speaking slots: One or two student speakers will be selected from the poster abstract submissions. The selected students will be given 20-minute speaking slots during Friday's speaker presentations. Although the program will focus on microarray technologies, undergraduate and graduate students are encouraged to attend and present their work from any area of bioinformatics alongside faculty and researchers from the region. Selected speakers will be notified by March 20, 2006.
