Additional languages [C, C++ etc.] are desirable. Other areas of interest include distributed and/or cloud computing, and visualization development. Developers should have a firm grounding in the objectives of modern biological research and standard methodologies.

Preferences

Company Information
The National Center for Genome Resources (NCGR) is a non-profit independent research institute engaged in plant, animal and human genomics, as well as performing sequencing and bioinformatics as services for external sites. In sequencing, we operate second- and third-generation sequencing platforms in the domains of genome (resequencing and de novo), methylome, transcriptome, and ncRNA sequencing. In analysis, we interpret the resulting sequence data at all levels. We are currently seeking exceptional bioinformatics candidates at several skill levels. Expectations for backgrounds and skills vary with the positions. All positions require significant understanding of the biology underlying the genomics.
